Fostering a workplace culture that values and support every individual : A candid conversation with Ruth Gellert-Neale, Chief People Officer, Technology, APAC and EMEA

In a recent interview, rockbird media engaged in a thought-provoking conversation with Ruth Gellert-Neale, the Chief People Officer, Technology for JLL in APAC and EMEA. With over 15 years of diverse work experience in global multinational organizations, she shared insights into her strategic approach to fostering international organizational connectivity. She highlighted the importance of maintaining these principles – collaboration, communication, and transparency. Emphasizing the necessary connection with teams on a personal level in creating a sense of community rather than just the working environment. This approach has been instrumental in enhancing collaboration and delivering outstanding results across diverse regions.

Ruth revealed her undeniable commitment to seamless value delivery at all levels, specifically addressing the ways she champions diversity and inclusion within the workforce.Diversity and inclusion is really important and one of the ways that we can advocate for that as HR leaders is to empower our teams and empower our business leaders, by doing that we develop flexibility, we develop a culture of trust and we enable the organization to continue to grow. Flexibility means different things to different people and there is no one way of being flexible as an organization, it’s  about recognizing the different needs of all of our teams”. She also stressed the importance of adapting organizational policies to meet the diverse needs of employees. Flexibility and empowerment were identified as key components, with Ruth drawing attention on the significance of open communication to understand and address individual needs. This commitment to inclusivity reflects her dedication in developing a workplace culture that values and supports every individual.

As a dynamic change agent, Ruth has been instrumental in innovating and developing effective people programs at JLL. Her initiatives in this regard, focus on a recognition program that highlights the outstanding work of the employee. She underlined the importance of recognizing and appreciating the efforts of individuals, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.
